About the Standard

What is BS OHSAS 18001?

BS OHSAS 18001 is the British Standard for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems. It provides a framework for organizations to manage occupational health and safety risks, improve safety performance, and demonstrate commitment to protecting their workforce.

The standard is built around the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and covers hazard identification, risk assessment, legal compliance, incident management, and continual improvement — creating a systematic approach to eliminating or minimizing OH&S risks.
